POSITION SUMMARY:
The Travel Specialist is responsible for booking and following up on travel reservations including air, hotel, and car rentals for clinicians and internal corporate employees. This role is responsible for achieving individual and contractual service level goals related to telephone, quality, and productivity as well as monitoring, sorting, and working global distribution system (GDS) queues to maintain quality control daily.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

Travel Bookings - 100%

  • Books travel requests made by Customer Care Specialists on behalf of clinicians within assigned divisions
  • Researches travel issues and takes corrective action
  • Works with Travel, Inc. corporate or Travel, Inc. consultants to learn new software and take ongoing GDS training
  • Keeps management well informed of area activities and of any significant problems
  • Completes assigned documentation in an accurate and timely manner

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (IF APPLICABLE)

  • May work on special projects or other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY/BUDGETARY/EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITY

  • Communicates with external travel vendors

QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of corporate travel experience on Worldspan or Sabre required
