Midsommar Bakery is seeking an experienced and reliable baker to join our small, passionate team. We specialize in traditional Swedish baked goods, supplying the Proctor Farmers’ Market and a select group of local cafés. We're looking for someone to assist with production on our Friday bake days.

This is a part-time position with an 8-hour shift every Friday. Lunch is provided. Our production schedule runs weekly through the spring, summer, and fall, with reduced hours during the winter months. Additional hours may be available depending on demand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape, proof, and bake a variety of pastries, and specialty Swedish baked goods
  • Monitor baking times and product quality to ensure consistency and excellence
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment and tools
  • Follow food safety and sanitation standards
  • Assist with packaging and labeling of finished products for market and café delivery
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals efficiently

What We're Looking For:

  • Must have a current food handlers permit or be able to get one prior to starting.
  • Prior professional baking experience strongly preferred (commercial or home baking considered)
  • Reliable and punctual with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a kitchen environment with repetitive tasks
  • Able to commit to weekly Friday shifts at the Sons of Norway in Tacoma, WA
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and enthusiastic about handmade, high-quality baked goods
