Position Summary

As a Cashier & Sales Team Member in the Clothing & Housewares Department, you will provide exceptional customer service while assisting shoppers with their clothing and housewares needs. This role includes operating the cash register, assisting with product selection, maintaining an organized and visually appealing sales floor, and ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Sales
  • Greet and assist customers in selecting clothing, kitchenware, home decor, and other housewares.
  • Provide product recommendations based on customer needs and preferences.
  • Answer questions about sizing, fit, materials, and care instructions for clothing and footwear.
  • Help customers locate items and process special orders when necessary.
  • Operate the cash register, process transactions accurately, and handle returns and exchanges professionally.
Merchandising & Inventory
  • Maintain attractive and well-organized displays in the clothing and housewares sections.
  • Assist with restocking, pricing, and tagging merchandise.
  • Ensure fitting rooms and sales areas are neat and orderly.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock or out-of-stock items to management.
Operations & Store Maintenance
  • Follow proper cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) procedures.
  • Assist with store promotions, markdowns, and seasonal product transitions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including checkout counters and fitting rooms.
  • Follow all store policies and safety procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Prior experience in retail, cashiering, or customer service is preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A friendly and positive attitude with a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change.
  • Willingness to learn about products and store promotions.
  • Technology Proficiency: Comfort with using point-of-sale systems and other technology to process orders and payments.

Availability Requirements

  • Part Time:

    • Part-time, 25-28 hours on average
    • Able to adjust schedule as department needs arise
    • Must be willing to work Saturdays and evenings until 7pm
    • Store Hours are Monday-Friday 6am-7pm and Saturday 7am-5pm
