We provide the scale, innovative technology and supply of Expedia Group to businesses looking to take on the world of travel. Through these partnerships we power experiences for millions of consumers globally, helping drive brand loyalty and growth for our partners, and Expedia Group. The Data Scientist II plays a strategic role of identifying and implementing supply-related opportunities related to our B2B business. This person will balance goals of driving revenue growth with minimizing business and operational risks, while unlocking initiatives to improve our supply and go-to-market for Expedia's large and growing B2B business. Day-to-day activities include applies data analytics, modelling and statistics to identify business problems and opportunities as well as design solutions, with some guidance and direction. Regularly interacts with commercial stakeholders and is able to translate detailed analysis into business-friendly communication and recommendations. What you'll do: • Drive impactful insights: Perform deep-dive analysis and statistical tests to uncover opportunities in our APAC B2B business, translating findings into actionable recommendations. • Transform data into value: Extract, transform, and combine data from diverse sources to build robust models and analyses. • Translate business needs into analytical solutions: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and scope analytical requests, framing business problems into solvable analytical tasks. • Visualize and communicate data stories: Create clear, compelling visualizations that translate data into meaningful insights and drive data-driven decision-making. • Develop and maintain scalable reporting: Automate frequent reporting tasks by building scalable dashboards that provide ongoing performance visibility. • Build business cases with data: Develop data-driven business cases to support stakeholder goals and strategic initiatives. Experience and qualifications: • You have at least 2 years of analytical experience in a data-rich commercial environment such as online travel, e-commerce, or banking. • You're a strong communicator, capable of translating complex analyses into easily understandable insights for non-technical audiences. • You're proficient in SQL, with the ability to write queries from scratch, find relevant data, research new data sets, and interpret existing code. • You're experienced with data visualization tools like Tableau, enabling you to create compelling and insightful dashboards. • You're a collaborative team player with a proven track record of delivering data-driven insights and recommendations that have driven positive change. • You have experience working with business stakeholders like account management in a multi-national context • You have good commercial sense and are highly driven to unlock business value from decisions, not just pulling and transforming data Accommodation requests If you need assistance with any part of the application or recruiting process due to a disability, or other physical or mental health conditions, please reach out to our Recruiting Accommodations Team through the Accommodation Request.
