Newtek Bank, N.A. is looking to add a Deposit Operations Specialist to its team. (Please see below for schedule information)

The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing various aspects of deposit-related transactions within the back office of the financial institution. This role requires a keen attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of banking regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain a strong understanding of bank policies and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Manual Account Opening
  • Account Maintenance
  • Set-up Account Sweeps
  • Certificate of Deposit Maturities
  • IRA Maintenance
  • Funds Availability - Placing Exception Holds
  • Inactive, Dormant and Escheated Account Reconcilements
  • Garnishments

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 2+ years required in the banking industry focused on core operations.
  • General banking knowledge in deposit products.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Exercise good judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to learn and use multiple banking software programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude with a desire to help others.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to assist in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following banking applications: Fiserv Premier, Director, Business Process Manager, Business Analytics, Onboard Advisor preferred.
  • Intermediate skills of Microsoft word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Education and Certification Requirements:

  • College degree from a two-year or four-year program preferred.
  • 2+ years in the banking industry required.

Salary Range: $55,000 to $67,000 per year

Schedule: This position follows a Monday-Friday schedule, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM EST.
