A dynamic and fast-growing engineering company headquartered in Munich, Germany employing around 2350 employees globally across 20 project locations in 8 countries including multiple locations across the UK. We are looking for an experienced DevOps/Cloud Engineer - GCP Specialist to join our customer location in UK with hybrid work options with strong expertise in arenaflex Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, arenaflex/CD, and Infrastructure as Code. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing scalable cloud environments, with proficiency in Golang and modern DevOps practices. Responsibilities • Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure on GCP using Terraform. • Manage, optimize, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters for scalable application deployment. • Configure and maintain arenaflex/CD pipelines using GitLab. • Implement and manage API gateways using Apigee. • Develop and maintain IAM policies, security configurations, and compliance controls. • Create and maintain Helm charts for application deployments. • Develop automation scripts, tools, and utilities using Golang. • Collaborate with development teams to streamline deployment processes and improve system reliability. • Integrate and utilize AI-powered tools such as GitLab Duo to enhance development and automation workflows. • Implement GitOps best practices for deployment and environment management. • Work with multi-cloud environments when required. • Utilize monitoring and observability tools to ensure infrastructure performance and reliability. • Work with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd) for secure and scalable microservices communication. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. • 7+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP. • Strong experience with GCP services, Apigee API management, and IAM. • Proven experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration. • Proficiency in GitLab arenaflex/CD pipelines for continuous integration and deployment. • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. • Good knowledge of Helm for Kubernetes package management. • Programming experience in at least one language, with a strong preference for Golang. • Experience with containerization technologies and microservices architecture. • Familiarity with AI-powered coding tools, particularly GitLab Duo. • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks. • Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools in cloud environments. • Familiarity with GitOps principles and workflows and experience working in multi-cloud setups. • Knowledge of service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd. • Relevant certifications (e.g., arenaflex Cloud Professional, CKA) are a strong plus.
