Employment Counsel (US Employment Laws) Job Category: LegalRequisition Number: EMPLO010008 Posting Details • * Posted: January 27, 2026 • Full-Time • Remote • Locations Showing 1 location26-Dallas Dallas, TX 75251, USA Job Details Description NOTE TO APPLICANTS: Individual(s) must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman now or in the future POSITION SUMMARY: The Legal Team at Milliman, Global Corporate Services (GCS) is seeking an experienced Employment Counsel (US Employment Laws) to provide strategic legal guidance on employment matters across multiple jurisdictions. This role partners closely with HR and business leaders to ensure compliance, manage risk, and support growth. This role reports to the Chief Legal Officer. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Serve as point of contact to human resources and provide SME support to operations on labor and employment matters in the US. • Provide advice and counsel to management and HR professionals on all aspects of day-to-day employment-related matters, including hiring and termination issues, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, reasonable accommodations, leaves of absence, wage and hour issues, restrictive covenants, and employee investigations. • Review legislative trends and remain up to date on changes in the law to proactively advise the business. • Conducts research on legal matters, drafts legal memoranda, and provides legal advice to HR and the business. • Manage employment litigation, develop strategy, facilitate discovery, and consult on key decisions. Advise on employment disputes and regulatory complaints (EEOC, NLRB, MCAD, etc.), and manage outside counsel for some litigation matters. • Represent the Company in mediations and negotiate settlement agreements. • Develop, provide, and deliver proactive training to Human Resources professionals and business leaders on a wide variety of employment law matters. • Provide analysis and counsel on US labor and employment issues, including recruitment, hiring, discipline, reorganizations, terminations, training, policies, handbooks, compensation, and benefits. • Support M&A due diligence and integration, providing employment-related risk assessments and guidance. • Collaborate with HR and leadership to align legal strategies with business objectives and foster a strong compliance culture. • Collaborate with the compliance and data privacy teams to advise on implementation of changes or programs within the US. • Serve as a legal representative on committees and special projects as requested. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: • Bachelor’s degree. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school • The ideal candidate must have an active membership in any U.S. State Bar. • The ideal candidate must have minimum 5 years of US employment law experience. • The ideal candidate must have a combination of experience in both law firm and in a corporate setting. • The ideal candidate must have experience with multistate employment matters. • The ideal candidate must have strong understanding of US federal and state labor and employment statutes and compliance frameworks. • The ideal candidate must have expertise in drafting and negotiating employment-related agreements and policies. • Must have excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. • Must be able to balance business needs and corporate goals within the appropriate legal framework and with a large emphasis on compliance. • Must provide strategic high-level legal counsel as a partner to senior business leaders and Human Resources professionals. • Must possess good business judgment and risk mitigation skills. • Must be able to prioritize and manage numerous matters simultaneously. LOCATION: This is a remote role. This job posting is expected to close on February 28th, 2026 COMPENSATION: The overall salary range for this role is $131,600 - $249,780. For candidates residing in: • Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, Newark, San Jose, San Francisco, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the salary range is $151,340 - $249,780. • All other locations the salary range is $131,600 - $217,200 A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc. BENEFITS: We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees’ health, financial security, and well-being.
