About Tribal Sand

Tribal Sand is a sophisticated, conservation-driven coastal hospitality property situated on Bofa Beach, Kilifi, operating across multiple accommodation tiers. The property runs entirely off-grid using advanced solar infrastructure and large-scale reverse osmosis water systems. Alongside delivering an exceptional guest experience, Tribal Sand is committed to reef restoration, sustainable resource management and long-term environmental stewardship along the Kenyan coastline.

The docket for this job covers the following properties:

BOFA BEACH, Kilifi
Maya Kobe (Boutique hotel, 6 rooms),
Maya illai (8 villas and 8 Studios)
Off Duty Villa 4 rooms (currently under renovation)
Clubhouse (under construction)
Pickle Ball courts (under construction)
Beach Club
Kite School
Tribal Table Restaurant

In addition a newly purchased house next door to Maya Kobe and Maya illai will offer budget
accommodation backpacker style with a bar and restaurant concept – this is under development.

hospitality possible.

Environmental responsibility sit at the core of daily operations. Every operational decision must reflect sustainability and long-term ecological impact.

Role Purpose

To lead all guest-facing operations at Tribal Sand whilst driving disciplined commercial performance and ensuring conservation principles are visibly embedded in the guest experience. Conservation must sit at the front of your mind at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Operations and Rooming

• Lead reception, room allocation and occupancy planning

• Oversee seamless guest movement from arrival to departure

• Coordinate closely with housekeeping to ensure room readiness and presentation standards

• Maintain high service standards across all accommodation classes

• Hosting clientele

Food and Beverage

• Oversee restaurant and bar operations

• Drive beverage and overall F&B revenue performance

• Ensure guests are consistently engaged and attended to

• Supervise stock control, procurement and margin management

• Maintain pricing discipline

Reporting and Budget Supervision

• Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports

• Monitor and supervise departmental budgets

• Own delivery of agreed monthly F&B revenue targets

• Oversee guest database management and repeat-guest strategy

• Manage online reputation across review platforms and ensure timely, professional responses

• Coordinate service delivery standards with key travel agents

• Oversee special dining experiences, chef residencies and hosted events

• Report directly to ownership on operational and commercial performance

Conservation Integration

• Ensure sustainable practices are embedded in front-of-house operations

• Communicate the property's conservation ethos credibly and authentically

• Match the guest experience with environmental responsibility

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor and hold accountable guest-facing teams

• Maintain discipline, presentation standards and operational order

Qualifications

• Relevant hospitality qualifications or experience in lieu of

• Demonstrated proficiency in hospitality reporting systems

• Strong financial supervisory literacy including budgeting, forecasting and margin analysis

• A minimum of five years FOH leadership experience in premium hospitality

• Experience in rooming, occupancy management and operational reporting

• Strong budget supervision and cost awareness

• Excellent communication skills

• Natural host with strong cultural intelligence

• Energetic, disciplined and hands-on

• Deep, genuine passion for conservation and sustainability

• Comfortable living on site
