Grounds Maintenance Associate – 1st Shift (Seasonal)
$18.08/hour | April – November/December
Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Abacus Staffing is hiring 17 dependable team members for a seasonal Grounds Maintenance opportunity supporting federal facilities in the APG and Edgewood areas.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy structured, hands-on outdoor work and take pride in maintaining clean, safe, and professional environments.


Job Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns, landscaped areas, trees, and shrubs
• Mow, trim, and edge using walk-behind and ride-on equipment
• Plant grass, shrubs, flowers, and install sod as directed
• Remove debris, leaves, yard waste, and storm damage
• Power wash sidewalks, entrances, and courtyard areas
• Assist with water feature and courtyard maintenance
• Follow all federal facility safety and security procedures
• Maintain and properly care for equipment and tools


Work Environment

• Outdoor work in various weather conditions

Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and work on uneven surfaces
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• Ability to follow directions and work with limited supervision
• Valid driver’s license (must be valid for at least 3 years)
• Acceptable driving record
• Must pass federal facility security requirements
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Basic English comprehension required

Landscaping experience preferred but not required. Training provided.
