INVENTORIES & STORES CONTROLLER in EMBU

Full-time position with long-term perspective

Anticipated Start date: 2nd February 2026

WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WHO HAVE:

  • A diploma or bachelor's degree in the following preferred fields includes:

  • Supply Chain Management.

  • Procurement management.

  • Accounting, CPA or Finance management (As an added advantage)

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in stock control, inventory management, or a similar role.

  • Experience with the specific role in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry (Added advantage)

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., Business Central, SAP, Oracle, Tally, Odoo) is essential. Strong computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Analytical Skills:
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies, manage stock levels, and forecast demand.
  • Organisational Skills:
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy in record-keeping, and strong organisational and time-management abilities are crucial.
  • Communication:
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with internal teams (purchasing/sourcing; sales, facility and departments) and external suppliers/vendors.
  • Problem Solving:
  • The ability to investigate and resolve stock variances, delays in supply promptly and implement corrective actions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creating and developing procurement and stock control systems. Ensuring the implementation of the same.
  • Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business.
  • Liaising with key company employees to determine their product and service needs;
  • Performing all procurement activities, including pre-qualification, negotiating supplier agreements, preparation of contracts and tender management in Liaison with the relevant procurement committee.
  • Delegating tasks and supervising the work of the inventory departments' staff, their records regularly, making the inventory stores neatly arranged at all times.
  • Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure ongoing feasibility.
  • Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
  • Preparing procurement and stores reports
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints
  • Supervise, coach and train the stores/inventories workforce
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
  • Maintain metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements
