**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**: - To clean and sanitize laboratory equipment, glassware, and workspaces regularly. - Stock and organize laboratory supplies and chemicals. - Assist in maintaining an inventory of laboratory materials and reagents. - Dispose of hazardous materials following proper disposal guidelines. - Prepare and set up experiments as per the instructions provided by the Chemist or supplier. - Assist in data collection and recording of experimental results. - Monitor experiments and alert the chemist to any issues or irregularities. - Maintain accurate and organized records of experimental data. - Operate laboratory equipment, such as microscopes, centrifuges, spectrophotometers, pipettes, etc. following established protocols. - Calibrate and perform routine maintenance on equipment. - Label, store, and prepare samples for analysis or experimentation. - Handle biological, chemical, or physical specimens according to safety guidelines. - Follow safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and disposing of hazardous waste properly. - Report any safety hazards or incidents to the chemist/supervisor. - Maintain accurate and organized laboratory records, including data, procedures, and observations. - Assist in preparing reports and summaries of experimental findings. - Collaborate with chemist/researcher to document methodologies and results. - Collaborate with chemists/researchers on ongoing projects. - Assist in literature reviews, background research, and data analysis. - Communicate effectively with team members, chemists and researchers. - Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory. - To understand and maintain QMS ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. - In addition to the roles and responsibilities, employees always have to take care of the safety and health of self and other employee in accordance with the Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) 1994 Section 24 PART VI GENERAL DUTIES OF EMPLOYEES. - To perform other related duties as assigned. **QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENT** - Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Science/Biology/Chemistry or an equivalency; - Fresh graduate or minimum of two (2) years experience in a similar field. - Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. - Proficiency with computers and scientific equipment; - Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills; - Good presentation, documentation, and reporting skills; - Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and practices. - Basic understanding of scientific principles and laboratory techniques. - Physical ability to lift and carry laboratory equipment and supplies.
