Your Role as a Laundry Aide

Skilled Nursing

This role may also be known as:

Laundry Assistant, Linen Services Aide, Environmental Services Aide, Laundry Technician, or Support Services Aide.

As a Laundry Aide, you will support residents and staff by ensuring a consistent, clean, and well-maintained linen supply. This role is essential to maintaining infection control standards and providing a safe, comfortable, and home-like environment for residents.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain adequate linen supply for resident care and daily operations
  • Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and clothing
  • Follow Americare policies and procedures for cleaning and laundry services
  • Perform cleaning assignments related to laundry operations as assigned
  • Ensure laundry equipment is used safely and properly
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area
  • Report equipment malfunctions or supply needs to the supervisor
  • Work collaboratively with nursing and support staff
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines

Physical Demands

  • Stand, sit, walk, bend, and change positions frequently
  • Lift up to 25 lbs. and push or pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Perform repetitive motions related to sorting and folding laundry

Safety Requirements

  • Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and state and federal regulations
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols
  • Report work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentation
  • Participate in company drug testing procedures

Work Environment

This role operates in a Skilled Nursing environment and includes regular interaction with residents, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

  • Grade school education required
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers
  • Ability to follow supervisor instructions in a safe and efficient manner
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and quality standards
