Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, loving, and reliable childcare for assigned children, creating a safe and stimulating environment.
• Plan and execute age-appropriate educational activities, games, and creative play to foster intellectual and social development.
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met, and supervise meal times.
• Assist children with personal hygiene routines, including bathing, dressing, and toilet training as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized play area and children's living spaces.
• Administer basic first aid when necessary and manage minor illnesses, communicating promptly with parents/guardians or relevant academy staff.
• Supervise children during outings, ensuring their safety and engagement.
• Establish and maintain open, respectful, and clear communication with parents/guardians or relevant academy staff regarding children's daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
• Adhere strictly to all safety and child protection guidelines and protocols.
• Assist with homework and school projects as appropriate for older children.
• Provide emotional support and guidance, helping children develop social skills and self-confidence.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional childcare experience, preferably as a Nanny or in a daycare setting.
• Strong understanding of child development stages and age-appropriate activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and adults.
• Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a genuine love for children.
• Ability to plan and execute engaging and educational activities.
• Proficiency in basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
• High level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
• Ability to maintain a tidy and safe environment.
• Fluency in English and Swahili is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Development (ECD) or a related field.
• Experience working with children of varying age groups (infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers).
• References from previous childcare roles.
• Valid driving license (though not strictly required for daily duties, preferred for potential errands).
