Job Description – Promoter/Cashier Position Title: Promoter/Cashier Reports to: Assist. Shop Manager/Shop Manager

Position Summary A passionate, customer-focused Retail Assistant / Promoter to deliver an outstanding in-store experience, provide excellent product knowledge, assist customers in making informed purchase decisions, and ensure smooth cashiering operations. This role requires a proactive, sales-driven individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to close sales while maintaining brand standards, supporting store operations, and participating in regular and random stock checks. The ideal candidate will also be adaptable to different promotional events, flexible with working hours, and committed to achieving store objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Experience & Sales

  • Greet, engage, and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Understand customers’ needs and recommend suitable products to meet their requirements.
  • Demonstrate product features and benefits effectively.
  • Proactively upsell and cross-sell products to achieve personal and store sales targets.
  • Handle customer feedback or complaints professionally, escalating to management when necessary.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with repeat customers to encourage brand loyalty.
  • Stay updated with product knowledge, promotions, and competitor offerings to enhance sales conversations.

2. Cashiering & Transaction Handling

  • Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately and efficiently.
  • Handle cash, credit/debit card, and e-wallet transactions securely.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, or exchanges in line with company policies.
  • Perform daily cash balancing and ensure no discrepancies.
  • Assist with end-of-day sales reporting and reconciliation.

3. Store Operations

  • Maintain store cleanliness, product displays, and stock arrangements.
  • Assist in receiving, unpacking, and stocking merchandise.
  • Ensure pricing labels and promotional materials are accurate and visible.
  • Participate in stock counts, including scheduled cycle counts and random stock take exercises to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Assist in rearranging store layout or display changes during promotions or seasonal events.
  • Monitor stock levels and inform the supervisor of low inventory or replenishment needs.

4. Compliance & Company Standards

  • Follow all company SOPs, safety procedures, and loss prevention guidelines.
  • Uphold brand image and product presentation standards at all times.
  • Adhere to company grooming and dress code requirements.
  • Report any suspicious activities, theft, or damage to management immediately.

5. Additional Duties

  • Support and participate in roadshows, promotional events, or pop-up stores when required.
  • Assist in basic store administration, such as filing delivery orders and updating stock records.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and share best practices.
  • Be flexible to work on weekends, public holidays, and rotational shifts as scheduled.
  • Attend regular training sessions to improve sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer service skills.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Assist. Shop Manager/ Manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From RM1,700.00 per month
