Job Details:

PacAero Agawam is seeking an experienced Quality Control Lead Inspector to support inspection activities within our aerospace manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for performing advanced inspection, supporting inspection workflow, maintaining inspection documentation, and helping ensure product meets all quality and customer requirements.

This position serves as a senior inspection resource and works closely with the Quality Manager and inspection team to support daily inspection priorities, improve inspection flow, and maintain compliance with company and customer quality standards.

This position is located in Agawam, MA and is onsite, full-time, and may require overtime based on business needs.

Requirements:

Inspection & Product Verification

  • Perform visual inspection of product between production processes to ensure quality standards are met
  • Perform dimensional inspection using hand inspection tools and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment
  • Inspect product under microscope, including hermetic packages and precision components
  • Verify product meets blueprint requirements, GD&T, and customer specifications
  • Review production documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance


Inspection Support & Workflow Coordination

  • Support the Quality Manager and inspection team in coordinating inspection priorities
  • Help ensure inspection activities align with production schedules
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve inspection efficiency and flow
  • Serve as a technical resource to inspectors and production teams


Documentation & Inspection Planning

  • Create and maintain inspection plans and inspection documentation
  • Maintain accurate organization and storage of inspection records in both electronic and physical formats
  • Ensure traceability and proper document control in accordance with company and aerospace requirements
  • Utilize document control systems and Microsoft Office tools


Nonconforming Material & Continuous Improvement

  • Process Non-Conforming Material Reports (NMR) and rework documentation
  • Work with Quality Assurance to support root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Identify recurring defects and support improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to improve product quality and production flow

Standards & Compliance

  • Become familiar with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, and internal procedures
  • Utilize standards to determine product acceptability and pass/fail criteria
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001, AS9100, and customer requirements


Workplace Standards

  • Maintain a clean and organized inspection area
  • Follow all company safety and quality procedures
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Quality Manager

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Quality Inspection or Manufacturing in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Strong GD&T knowledge and blueprint reading skills
  • Experience performing inspection using hand inspection tools and CMM equipment
  • Experience performing microscope inspection of hermetic packages or similar precision components
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a Lead Inspector or senior inspection role
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and aerospace quality systems
  • Experience with document control systems
  • QC experience in environments such as electro-plating inspection, CNC machining inspection including burr inspection, feed-thru integration, and/or aerospace or medical device manufacturing.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position is based in a manufacturing and inspection environment and requires extended periods of microscope inspection.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Overtime and weekends may be required

The anticipated pay range posted for this position represents PacAero (Litron, LLC)’s good-faith estimate of the compensation for this role at the time of posting and is based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills, certifications, internal equity, geographic market data, and current area compensation benchmarks.
