This is a remote position, offering flexibility to work from home.

FTE: 1.0 Shift: Day Schedule: 8am-4:30pm Monday - Friday

Position Summary
The Referral Auth Coordinator is responsible for expediting the administrative requirements of patient referrals between participating providers and patient health plans. This position also serves as liaison between medical providers and injured workers for coordination and expertise regarding case treatment plan, outcome, and problem areas, and makes recommendations to facilitate case management goals.

Responsibilities:

Communicates with company contacts regarding workers compensation and occupational medicine needs while responding to calls from employers, providers, and staff members
Gathers necessary clinical information to process referrals, pre-certifications, pre-determinations, or prior authorizations according to insurance plan requirements
Logs, tracks and reviews managed care approvals and denials
Verifies insurance coverage and benefits, and creates price estimates and reverifications as needed
Schedules and pre-registers patients for appointments

Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent
One (1) year of post high school business or college course work preferred
Two (2) years of customer experience in admitting, billing, or registration in a medical or insurance setting
Experience with CPT and ICD coding in managed care preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $21.47 - $30.89 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
