Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Field Service Technician specializing in advanced industrial equipment. This is a fully remote position that leverages cutting-edge remote diagnostic and support tools, allowing you to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues for clients across various locations without requiring physical on-site presence for initial assessments. You will act as the primary technical point of contact, guiding on-site personnel through diagnostic procedures, repairs, and maintenance activities using detailed instructions, augmented reality tools, and video conferencing. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to clearly communicate technical information. You will be instrumental in minimizing downtime and ensuring the optimal performance of critical machinery. Responsibilities:
Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for a range of specialized industrial machinery. Diagnose equipment malfunctions using remote diagnostic tools, software, and user-provided information. Guide on-site personnel through step-by-step repair and maintenance procedures via video calls, virtual assistance platforms, and detailed documentation. Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, repair manuals, and best practice advisories. Analyze equipment performance data to identify potential issues and recommend preventative maintenance actions. Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to provide feedback on equipment design and reliability. Manage service requests, prioritize issues, and ensure timely resolution to minimize client operational impact. Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including diagnostic findings, repair actions, and parts used. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in industrial equipment technology and remote support methodologies. Assist in the training of new field technicians on remote support protocols and equipment. Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or specialized teams when necessary. Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a field service technician or in a similar technical support role, with a strong focus on industrial machinery. Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. Proficiency with diagnostic software, data acquisition tools, and remote access technologies. Experience with augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) support platforms is a significant advantage.
