Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Remote Renewable Energy Systems Engineer to join their cutting-edge team. This is a critical, fully remote role supporting our **Eldoret, Uasin Gishu, KE** operations. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing advanced renewable energy solutions, contributing to a sustainable future. The ideal candidate possesses a strong engineering background coupled with a deep passion for green technology.

Responsibilities:
Design, analyze, and optimize renewable energy systems (solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, etc.). Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for new renewable energy projects. Develop detailed engineering designs, schematics, and specifications for energy systems. Select appropriate equipment and technologies based on project requirements and cost-effectiveness. Perform system modeling and simulations to predict performance and identify potential issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, technicians, and clients, to ensure successful project execution. Oversee the installation, commissioning, and integration of renewable energy systems. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during project development and operation. Ensure all designs and installations comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations. Develop and implement testing procedures to verify system performance and reliability. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders. Research emerging technologies and innovative solutions in the renewable energy sector. Manage project timelines and budgets related to engineering tasks. Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and best practices. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. Evaluate the environmental and economic impact of proposed energy solutions. Develop maintenance strategies and plans for operational systems. Stay updated on energy policies, incentives, and market trends. Contribute to the development of proposals and bid responses for new projects. Ensure the safety and security of all engineered systems. Analyze energy consumption data and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. Manage vendor relationships and evaluate supplier offerings. Contribute to patent applications and technical publications. Lead technical reviews and design validation processes. Develop standardized engineering tools and templates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of renewable energy systems. Proven expertise in at least one major renewable energy technology (solar PV, wind turbines, etc.). Strong understanding of power systems, electrical components, and control systems. Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst, ETAP, MATLAB). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications. Strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment. Knowledge of energy storage solutions and grid integration is highly desirable. Familiarity with relevant national and international codes and standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE). Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A proactive approach to identifying and solving technical challenges. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting. Experience with GIS software for site assessment is a plus. Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification is an advantage.
