About The Role

The ideal candidate is an HR professional who thrives in
fast-paced, execution-driven environments and is comfortable working hands-on with a predominantly frontline workforce. They are confident engaging at all levels of the organization—from senior leadership to shop-floor teams—and can build trust, credibility, and structure in complex operational settings. This role requires a resilient and grounded individual who can operate effectively under pressure, take full ownership of people processes, and drive outcomes with discipline and consistency. The successful candidate will be analytical and process-oriented, with the ability to translate workforce data into clear insights that support management decision-making and long-term people strategy.

Your five (5) primary responsibilities will consist of:
  • Attracting, hiring and retaining the best talent in the country to fuel our growth
  • Capacity and capabilities development to match business needs from talent acquisition to training and development and performance management
  • Overseeing the day to day running of the HR function
  • Employee relations and culture development ensuring the organization empowers its employees and provides a nurturing environment for them to excel
  • Driving HR data, analytics and reporting by developing people dashboards and insights on workforce metrics to support executive decision-making and long-term people strategy.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee HR Business Partnering function to provide support to the business.
    - Provide guidance to team of HRBPs to align people strategy with business needs
    - Support organizational design, employee relations and change initiatives
  2. Develop and implement a talent acquisition strategy to align with the organization's growing needs
    - Drive the people planning process within the organization
    - Ensure timely filling of open position by running an efficient talent acquisition process
    - Develop our Graduate Programme and use it to attract top talent to the company
  3. Oversee day to day operations of the human resource department
    - Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations across all processes
    - Manage payroll systems and process, employee records and benefits administration
    - Optimize operational efficiency through process improvements and technology integration
  4. Capacity development and performance management
    - Thought partner with our directors and c-suite to map out human development requirements for the organization
    - Strengthen our training and development function leveraging existing programs to train continuously and grow our talent in partnership with training institutions
    - Drive our performance management framework to track team performance and ensure maximal organizational performance.
  5. Driving HR data, analytics and reporting
    - Develop and manage HR dashboards and reporting, covering headcount, productivity, performance, attrition, engagement, and workforce costs to support informed decision-making.
    - Provide regular, data-driven people insights to the CEO and leadership team, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities to inform workforce planning and strategic interventions.
    - Use people analytics to evaluate the impact of HR initiatives, partnering with Finance and Operations to ensure data accuracy and continuous improvement of HR strategies and outcomes.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience within the different HR functions (Operation, talent acquisition, training and development, admin, etc.)

  • Experience in an entrepreneurial venture or rapidly scaling organization implementing best practices, systems and processes

  • Experience working with a diverse work force. Over 750+ of our workforce is blue collar living in rural Kenya.

  • Capacity to understand and drive system implementation to support HR strategy and function

  • Proven ability to develop and interpret HR dashboards and people analytics to support strategic workforce planning and leadership decision-making.

  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili are compulsory. Fluency in Luo is a significant plus given our strong presence in Western Kenya.

  • Ability to engage with all levels of the organization, from senior colleagues to blue collar workers

  • A successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, ability to work in teams, intellectual curiosity, and ability to structure and solve problems

  • Managed a budget and demonstrated financial acumen

  • Bachelors or Masters in Human Resources

  • CHRP is a plus.
