SEO Specialist Wilmington, DE FreelanceRemote$35 - $45 /hr Our client, a leading global provider in specialty chemicals and services for water-intensive industries, is looking for a freelance SEO Specialist with a strong technical SEO foundation to support multiple branded websites that compete for similar keywords and audiences. This is a remote, freelance opportunity, about 40 hours per week and is 6+ months with strong potential to continue ongoing. This role will focus on improving search visibility, site structure, and content performance across a multi-site ecosystem. Responsibilities: - You will play a key role in helping multiple brands rank effectively in both traditional search and AI-driven search environments by applying modern SEO best practices, structured data, and entity-based optimization - Lead technical SEO efforts across multiple websites and domains - Identify and resolve site structure, crawlability, indexing, and performance issues - Develop strategies to help multiple brands rank competitively for overlapping keywords - Optimize sites and content for AI-driven search results and generative search experiences - Implement and audit structured data and schema markup - Apply entity-based SEO principles and E-E-A-T best practices - Conduct SEO audits and deliver actionable recommendations - Partner with content and marketing teams to improve existing content performance - Provide clear guidance on content updates, gaps, and opportunities - Monitor rankings, traffic, and performance across properties and report on progress Requirements: - 3-5 years of hands-on SEO experience, with a strong technical focus - Experience managing SEO across multiple websites or brands - Deep understanding of site architecture, crawl behavior, indexing, and page performance - Knowledge of AI-influenced search, entity-based SEO, and structured data (schema) - Strong grasp of E-E-A-T principles and how they impact rankings - Ability to audit and improve existing content for SEO performance - Familiarity with common SEO tools (e.g., Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, GSC) - Comfortable working independently and translating findings into clear action plans Nice to Have: - Experience in multi-brand or multi-domain environments - Experience working with marketing or content teams to execute SEO recommendations - Understanding of how generative AI and search engines surface content today In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data.
