THE ROLE:

This is a Global Commodity Sourcing role for Testing Hardware Equipment, used in TMP (Test, Mark & Pack) processes, applies to both NPI and Production environment. At the start of product development, you are required to take early involvement with the Engineering community to understand the technology requirements and assess the existing equipment or systems configuration capabilities to support the next generation products.

 

You will be exposed to managing the production requirements at the OSATs, understanding their equipment needs and optimizing AMD’s available capacity across multiple products.

This role will be able to develop and strengthen your capabilities to provide multiple strategies that best suit the scenario, while balancing CapEx expenditure reduction, delivery/leadtime and stakeholder managements.

 

THE PERSON:

This role requires an individual that is more agile, highly motivated, proactive and self-driven, fast-learner individuals. Has the ability to collaborate closely with stakeholders and vendors, to build a strategy around the commodity that he/she will manage.

Good understanding on equipment/system configuration and it’s application is highly recommended. Ability to handle and accommodate in a highly stressful and fast phase environment, from time to time.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with stakeholders to understand and set cost targets for managed categories; Lead competitive bid process & analysis, price negotiation, cost reduction and business awards for the commodity with key suppliers.
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders on all levels. And with a good understanding on their requirements and formulate a strategic plan.
  • Ensure supply from NPI to mass production. Close coordination with production sites as required.
  • Manage supplier's performance to contractual requirements which meet AMD short- and long-term needs. Implement contracts to minimize AMD risk and enable supplier accountability for non-performance
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Ability to provide results in short period of time, especially during sudden demand increases, where expediting deliveries and ensuring supply is adamant.
  • Overall understanding of the impact of the new technology/design requirements to future implementation in production environment. Ensure risk mitigation will be in-placed ahead of time.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Responsible in managing Testing hardware commodity as the global lead for the company. Testing Hardware related to FT (Functional Test), SLT (System Level Test) and Burn-in, equipment and services.
  • Ability to develop long-term strategies and managing the strategic supplier relationship.
  • Manage CAPEX expenditure through cost reduction activities and negotiations.
  • Ability to handle extreme pressure during NPI and production capacity enablement and last-minute demand pull-in.
  • Close collaboration and manage cross-functional groups.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS/BA degree plus 8 years of experience in a related technical (preferably in mechanical) or business field OR MBA plus 3 years of experience in a related technical or business field.
