FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:


@Southwest Louisiana Independence Center (@SLIC) is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSW) to provide care for a disabled male, in the Westlake area. The position is 25 hours weekly, shift times may vary. The candidate must have a valid driver’s license, dependable vehicle with up-to-date auto registration/insurance & inspection, to transport the consumer to and from appointments and community events.


 


The Direct Support Professional is responsible for the physical care of our clients who may no longer be able to take care of themselves due to age, illness, injury, surgery, or disability. The ideal candidate must be able to care for our clients and their property with dignity, patience, compassion, and respect.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  1. Must be 18 years of age or older.

  2. Valid Driver’s License

  3. Dependable Vehicle with Current Up-to-date Auto (Registration/insurance/inspection)

  4. Working Cell Phone with Data Plan (Must be able to download REQUIRED two apps)

  5. Must be able to complete a Criminal Background report

  6. Commitment to excellent client care

  7. Must have Patience, Compassion, Positive Attitude, and be a Team Player


 


RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Light Housekeeping

  2. Assist with Cooking

  3. Assist with bathing / dressing

  4. Assist with Shopping

  5. Safely transport to appointments


 


PAY:


$9.00 per hour plus a weekly bonus (equaling $12.00 per hour)


 


JOB TYPES:


Part-Time

Monday - Friday


Shift times may vary
