YouTube Editor – Episodic Sports Storytelling Series

We’re launching a new episodic YouTube series built around original sports stories, fictional athletes, and cinematic gameplay. Each episode is designed to feel like a short sports film, following characters, rivalries, and career arcs across multiple sports.

Gameplay footage (EA Sports, MLB The Show, etc.) serves as the visual engine for the stories, combined with narration, music, and stylized visuals to create engaging, story-driven episodes.

The goal is to build a series that feels episodic and narrative-driven, where each video functions both as a standalone story and as part of a larger universe.

Episodes typically run 10–15 minutes.

Editing Style

The tone should feel fast-paced, personality-driven, and episodic, similar to modern sports YouTube creators who combine gameplay, humor, and storytelling into episodic content.

We are not looking for heavy cinematic filmmaking or excessive visual effects. The focus is story pacing, rhythm, and strong editing instincts. Story drives the edit.

Responsibilities

The editor will be responsible for:

Narrative Editing

• shaping pacing and momentum across a full episode

• cutting around voiceover and gameplay to build tension and payoff

• maintaining strong viewer engagement

Music & Sound Design

• cutting effectively to music

• using sound effects to enhance key moments

• knowing when to let moments breathe

• generating temporary voiceover in order to build the pacing of the episode.

• Final VO will be recorded separately and integrated during final edit pass.

Visual Integration

• integrating gameplay footage, voiceover, and supporting visuals

• adding light graphics such as stat overlays or title cards when needed

•. Editors should be comfortable working with a mix of assets including

gameplay footage, AI-generated visuals, graphics, and voiceover.

•. Familiarity with AI-assisted video and visual tools is a plus

The goal is a clean, engaging edit that feels intentional and story-driven.

Project Structure

The first step will be a paid test episode.

Test Episode

• Fixed price: $200

• All footage, voiceover, and assets will be provided

• Expected length: 10–15 minutes

This test allows us to evaluate editing style, pacing, and communication.

Ongoing Work

If the collaboration works well, we are looking for an editor to continue working on the series.

Initial production cadence:

2 episodes per month

Long-term goal:

weekly releases

Ongoing work will typically be structured as hourly editing with a per-episode cap

We’re looking for someone who enjoys consistent ongoing work rather than one-off projects.

Ideal Experience

You may be a good fit if you have experience editing:

• sports or gaming YouTube content

• narrative or personality-driven videos

• gameplay commentary or highlight content

Preferred tools:

• Adobe Premiere Pro

• After Effects (basic motion graphics)

To Apply

Please include:

1. 2–3 examples of your best editing work

2. Any sports, gaming, or YouTube content you’ve edited

3. A brief note on how you approach pacing in narrative videos

To confirm you read the full post, include the phrase:

“Triple Crown”

at the top of your application.

Opportunity

This is an opportunity to help shape a new episodic sports storytelling channel from the ground up.

We’re looking for an editor who enjoys building something long-term and bringing sports stories to life through strong editing.
