🎥 Why ZDF?

We don’t just make videos, we craft viral stories for one of YouTube’s biggest audiences. But even the best story needs the right to get seen. That’s where you come in. As our YouTube Packaging Strategist, you’ll design, test, and refine thumbnails and video packaging that turn curiosity into clicks, ensuring our long-form content performs as powerfully as our Shorts.

This is not an entry level role. We will expect to see a huge amount of experience growing massive YouTube channels.

Role Overview

Zack D. Films is one of the only mega-channels built almost exclusively on Shorts. Now, we’re launching our long-form strategy and we need a packaging expert to make it fly.

You’ll be responsible for thumbnail strategy, design, testing, and optimization. Working closely with Zack, you’ll ensure every long-form video launches with multiple thumbnail options, rigorous A/B/C testing, and a clear path to a CTR above 6%.

This isn’t just design, it’s data-driven experimentation. You’ll blend creative instincts with analytics to maximize performance and help shape a packaging strategy that’s never been done before on YouTube.

🎯 Purpose

You’ll deliver packaging that:

  • Produces 3 thumbnails per long-form video for testing.

  • Runs A/B/C test cycles at launch and iterates based on results.

  • Achieves and sustains CTR > 6% and increasing.

  • Ensures thumbnails are produced on time and experiments are executed consistently.

  • Translates Zack D. Films’ Shorts success into long-form growth through packaging excellence.

✍️ Responsibilities

  • Define thumbnail and packaging strategy in collaboration with Zack.

  • Craft titles and thumbnails that grab attention without being clickbait.

  • Set up and manage A/B/C testing cycles for each video launch.

  • Review analytics data, identify winning designs, and repeat test cycles to maximize CTR.

  • Ensure all thumbnails and packaging assets are delivered on time.

  • Maintain alignment with Zack D. Films’ brand identity while pushing creative boundaries.

Ultimate Responsibility: Deliver packaging that consistently drives CTR growth and supports long-form expansion.

❤️ You’ll Love This Job If…

  • You thrive on blending design instincts with data-driven testing.

  • You’re excited to be at the ground floor of a long-form strategy for a mega-channel.

  • You enjoy ambiguity and quick pivots, seeing them as opportunities to innovate.

  • You want to do something that hasn’t been done before on YouTube.

🙅 You’ll Hate This Job If…

  • You struggle with analytics, testing, or optimization strategies.

  • You want full creative control—this is an advisory role, and Zack’s decision is final.

  • You dislike rapid iteration or working in a fast-changing environment.

  • You’re not comfortable operating at the margins where top-tier YouTube channels compete.
